Extreme Sports event at Westfield

There is no place like London

This weekend I visited London town, and took a little trip to Westfield shopping centre in Stratford (zone 3). I don't want to exaggerate, but this place AMAZED me.
I went there without any expectations, without knowing anything about it. As soon as I walked in there I was overwhelmed by the size of everything in the inside. The posters, banners, the displays of the mall, the shops. Even shops like Primark looked astonishingly modern and spacious. Their windows displays were up to date, with outfits that could easily be seen in more expensive shops and even had huge screens where they played their Autum/Winter campaign.
The only thing that I didn't like was the amount of people that were walking around and shopping, and the time that had to be spent in the queues of every shop, but this understandable, considering that Westfield Stratford City is the third largest shopping centre in the UK. (I did some research online after coming home and found out that) This mall opened on 13 September 2011 (hence the innovative technological advances all around the place) and has a total retail floor area of 175,000 m2).
I only probably visited a third of this multi-purpose centre and spent over 3 hours there. The shopping centre has three floors and 300 stores, including famous fashion brands, department stores, supermarkets, a cinema and several restaurants.
This weekend, they also had an "Extreme event" where they built an indoor skate park and they had famous people skating, rollerblading and biking every hour, and people could enjoy these performances for free.
I'm going to stop talking, and let you see by yourselves. There are some photos/videos I took while there, but I do strongly recommend everyone to go and visit this place by yourselves. Westfield Stratford City offers an imposing shopping and entertaining experience.

The last day of summer

I know this was a couple of weeks ago, but I'd like to share with you all photos I took on the beach on, what probably was the last day of summer this year in England.
I had just come back from Uni, and decided that I needed to be alone for a while to reflect and just sit down and not talk to anyone...simply admire the landscape. I love being here and the fact that I can just walk and get to the seafront in about 20 mins.
The day was lovely, sunny and warm, but there was a cool breeze and a fresh smell of sea in the air that made the setting impeccable and enjoyable. People were swimming, tanning, jogging or simply just hanging out with their friends/family. I know it sounds silly, but it's little things like these that make me feel comfortable and happy to be able to call this place home.

Les premiers jours du reste de ta vie...

I know it's been a while since I last posted something on this blog, it's been a busy month-moving in, settling, getting to know people, going out, working, going to uni. I have my ups and downs, but I'm loving my new life..Here's a selection of photos of my past month.

These are some photos taken in Brighton. I love the city, it's so vibrant, different and alternative. It's definitely a place where everyone can feel included and welcome. I'm still in the process of discovering the different corners of Brighton, but I just love how there's a balance between the typical noise and stress of a big city and the calmness of the beach, which offers a place to escape everything for a while.
The fashion is particularly unique and it's a place where lots of sub-cultures and styles come together. There are plenty of vintage shops and small independent boutiques which offer a wide range of different products to suit anyone, as well as shopping centres with big high street brands.

Pretty in pink

Veredict on eyeshadow: In my opinion, the shade I picked out (84) is too light, but number 85 was way too dark, so my criticism would be that Chanel should make sure they have a wider range of tones in their colour pallet. I still really like the effect it gives, specially when mixed with other tones of eye shadow in order to create a very long-lasting smoky eye. I have to say, everytime I go out, as I start dancing and zipping drinks my make-up tends to fall off pretty easily, but this time I did not have this problem. So YES, chanel Ilusion d'ombre by Chanel is definitely a good investment that people should consider.
This is what I wore on my last night out before moving to university. I am not crazy about this look, there's something I don't like about it and still can't decide what it is...I don't know if it's the make up or the outfit or the hair...However I'm still uploading this photo to show how without spending too much money one can create a classy look.
Shirt-Primark
Earrings-Mom's closet (I believe they're from Primark too)
Jeans-Primark (...I know I do own a lot of stuff from Primark, but that's because I tend to always look out for good, combinable products-I must admit sometimes it's really hard to find decent items there, but if you really keep your eyes open, you're very lickely to find even a small, cute accessorie)
Shoes-Forever 21
One thing about buying in Primark is that as I mentioned before, it's hard to find decent products..but also everyone has the same things. My trick was wearing Primark clothes/accessories where I used to live, where Primark didn't exist...that way I was always sure that I'd never see anyone walking around wearing my same outfit. Also, the important thing is to mix and match products that are maybe not part of the latest trends, and some that are very current. That way you'll make sure you have your own style and you won't look like you're wearing a uniform.

“The best thing is to look natural, but it takes makeup to look natural.”

 Illusion d'ombre by Chanel
Lash Queen Mascara Feline Blacks Waterproof by Helena Rubistein

Today I managed to buy these two beauties for €43 euros. At Ici Paris XL they had a a promotion where if you bought 2 products, you could get a 30% off both of them. Therefore, I obtained the mascara for €23 and the eye shadow for €20. I lovvvvee the feline mascara, I've discovered it about a year ago and have been using it since then. Before I used to have the Maybelline Falsies Mascara, which is very good specially considering it's affordable price. However, I think that it's worth spending a few extra euros and invest in this mascara (Waterproof ideally-it lasts way longer and gives your eyelashes more definition) because I think it's a key product that should be in every girls' make up bag. This mascara gives your lashes volume and definition without leaving any clumps.
On the other hand, I haven't yet tried the Chanel eye shadow but a friend of mine reccomended it to me. It's meant to be long lasting and allows you to create a glittery, glamourous look. I will be giving more feedback once I try it-which will probably be tonight, since I'm going out with my friends. It's my last night here before I leave for university.

Fiesta Latina

Last Friday I went to the Fiesta Latina in Brussels, a festival organized yearly where you can "discover the traditions, rhytms, colours and flavours of Latin America". The event includes concerts, live DJ's, beach-acclimated terraces and mercadillos where people can buy typical latin american food and drinks.
The atmosphere was great and the weather also helped, it felt like I was in Southamerica for a couple of hours.
Here are some photos I took of people dressed in their typical costumes...

Photos of the Brazilian "comparsa" and some Equatorians wearing his typical costumes after dancing their traditional "carnaval".

I love the colours and the very particular outfits, they definitely reflect the joy and happiness of South America.
