This weekend I visited London town, and took a little trip to Westfield shopping centre in Stratford (zone 3). I don't want to exaggerate, but this place AMAZED me.
I went there without any expectations, without knowing anything about it. As soon as I walked in there I was overwhelmed by the size of everything in the inside. The posters, banners, the displays of the mall, the shops. Even shops like Primark looked astonishingly modern and spacious. Their windows displays were up to date, with outfits that could easily be seen in more expensive shops and even had huge screens where they played their Autum/Winter campaign.
The only thing that I didn't like was the amount of people that were walking around and shopping, and the time that had to be spent in the queues of every shop, but this understandable, considering that Westfield Stratford City is the third largest shopping centre in the UK. (I did some research online after coming home and found out that) This mall opened on 13 September 2011 (hence the innovative technological advances all around the place) and has a total retail floor area of 175,000 m2).
I only probably visited a third of this multi-purpose centre and spent over 3 hours there. The shopping centre has three floors and 300 stores, including famous fashion brands, department stores, supermarkets, a cinema and several restaurants.
This weekend, they also had an "Extreme event" where they built an indoor skate park and they had famous people skating, rollerblading and biking every hour, and people could enjoy these performances for free.
I'm going to stop talking, and let you see by yourselves. There are some photos/videos I took while there, but I do strongly recommend everyone to go and visit this place by yourselves. Westfield Stratford City offers an imposing shopping and entertaining experience.
